# Label Detail Page

The label detail page is a **single scrolling page**, with no tabs. It splits into a main column on the left and a narrower right rail. Both scroll. Every section below appears in the order it appears on the page.

### Header

One top bar runs across the page. From left to right:

* **Back button** returns you to the labels list.
* **Category emoji** shows the emoji of the label's category. Hold the **labels:manage** permission and it becomes a dropdown: open it, pick another category, and the label moves there straight away. Without that permission it stays a static emoji.
* **Label name** is an inline text field. Type to rename. The change saves as you click away or press Enter. An empty name reverts to the previous one. The field turns read-only without the **labels:manage** permission.
* **Status indicator**, on the right, pairs a coloured dot with a short state: **Manual**, **Dynamic** for a running smart label with a pulsing dot, **Inactive** for a smart label whose rules are switched off, or **Auto-paused** for one Flapjax paused on its own.
* **Kebab menu** (⋮), on the right, offers:
  * **Copy page URL**, a direct link to this label.
  * **Delete**, with the **labels:manage** permission. It opens a confirmation dialog, and confirming deletes the label and returns you to the list.

### Main column

The main column holds these sections, in order.

#### Label type banner

An alert at the top tells you at a glance whether this is a **manual** label or a **smart** one.

#### Rule editor

This section turns a label into a [**smart label**](/docs/your-data/labels/smart-labels.md), one that adds and removes itself as your data changes.

**Assignment mode.** An **Assignment mode** selector sits at the top with two choices:

* **Manual**, meaning the label carries no rules. You apply it by hand, or automation actions do.
* **Rule-based**, meaning the label carries rules and maintains itself.

Switching to **Rule-based** reveals the rule editor. Switching back to **Manual** clears the rules.

**Rule groups.** A rule-based label runs on one or more **rule groups**, each shown as a card. Every group has three parts:

* **Trigger type**, either **Rule-based**, checked when an event happens such as a person update, a record added or a record updated, optionally only when one attribute changes. Or **Recurring schedule**, checked on a clock: hourly, daily, weekly or monthly.
* **Filter**, a set of field, operator and value conditions from the standard rule builder, optionally narrowed to a **segment**.
* **Effect**, either **Add while matching** or **Remove on match**. Any applicable group saying remove takes the label off, since remove wins.

**Add configuration** adds more groups. Your changes **save as you make them**, so this section has no Save button.

**Active toggle.** A rule-based label with saved rules gains an **Active** switch. An active label runs its rules and **locks** the configuration, and a banner reminds you to switch it off to edit. Turn it off, make changes, turn it back on.

A label can auto-pause, say a segment it relies on was deleted, or its rules would loop. A banner then explains why and offers **Resume**.

For the full picture of how smart labels evaluate and maintain themselves, see [**Smart labels**](/docs/your-data/labels/smart-labels.md).

#### Linked items

A card listing everything that references this label: **sequences**, **workflows** and **segments**, each with a count. Click an entry to jump to that automation, or to the segments settings page.

#### Activity timeline

A scrollable log of recent activity for the label, with a source filter and a copy-as-JSON action. It loads more as you scroll.

### Right rail

The narrower right column holds two cards.

#### People growth

An area chart of the label's **cumulative membership** over time, tracking how many people hold it day by day. A link at the top shows the current people count and opens the People page filtered to everyone with this label. With no history yet, the card shows an empty state.

#### Usage

A small card counting the **sequences**, **workflows** and **segments** that reference this label.
