# Browsing Labels

### View Modes

The dropdown in the top-left toolbar switches between two layouts.

#### Table View

The default. Labels fill a table with these columns:

* **Name**, the label's display name and a short description, or "No description provided"
* **Category**, the category tag with its emoji and colour
* **Entered By**, the number of people holding this label
* **Actions**, a three-dot menu offering View, Update and Delete

Click any row to open the label's detail page.

#### Kanban View

Labels become cards in columns, one column per category. Each card shows the label name and the number of people holding it.

You can:

* **Drag labels between columns** to move them to a different category
* **Reorder labels** inside a column by dragging
* **Reorder columns** by dragging a column header
* **Add a label** to a category with the "New Label" button at the bottom of its column
* **Edit a category** through the gear icon that appears as you hover over a column header

Flapjax remembers your column and card ordering across sessions.

### Searching & Sorting

The **search bar** in the top-right corner finds labels by name. Results update as you type.

Click **Sorted by** to change the table order. The options are:

* **Name**, alphabetically
* **Last Updated**, the default
* **People Entered**, by count

Each one runs ascending or descending.

The **Created by** filter narrows the list to labels last updated by one team member.

### Categories

The left sidebar groups your labels into categories. Categories collect related labels, say by team, lifecycle stage or campaign.

**Browsing by category.** Click any category to filter the list. A count badge shows how many labels it holds. **All labels** at the top clears the filter.

**Single and multi-select mode.** The mode button at the top of the sidebar switches between them. Single-select mode drops the previous category as you click a new one. Multi-select mode keeps several selected at once. Flapjax remembers your preference across sessions.

**Creating a category.** Click the **+** button at the top of the sidebar. Flapjax creates the category and opens a form for its **name**, **emoji** and **colour**. You can create categories inline as you create a label too.

**Updating or deleting a category.** Click the three-dot menu next to any category in the sidebar. Kanban view offers the same through the gear icon on a column header.

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Warning:** deleting a category removes every label inside it.
{% endhint %}

### Comparing Labels

Click **Compare Activity** in the top-right toolbar. The comparison page opens, with side-by-side analytics for up to five labels.

***

### Creating a Label

Click **New Label** in the top-right corner to open the creation form. The Managing Labels guide covers the details.
