# Files

The **file library** holds reusable assets: images and PDFs you reference elsewhere in the platform, most often to embed images in your emails. Find it under **Settings → Files** (`/settings/files`).

Assets sit in **folders**, so brand logos, campaign banners and documents stay tidy and easy to find.

***

### Folders

The Files page opens on your list of folders. Each folder shows its **name**, with an optional emoji icon, and the time it was last updated.

**Create a folder**

1. Click **New folder** in the top-right corner.
2. Pick an **emoji**, optional, and enter a **name**.
3. Click **Save**.

Flapjax takes you straight inside the new folder, ready to upload.

**Rename or delete a folder**

Open the actions menu next to a folder to **Update** its name and emoji, or to **Delete** it. The **Settings** tab inside the folder does the same job.

{% hint style="warning" %}
**A folder must be empty before you can delete it.** Files still inside mean Flapjax rejects the delete. Remove or move the files first, then delete the folder.
{% endhint %}

### Uploading files

Open a folder and use the **Files** tab. Drag files onto the upload area, or click it to browse. Several files can go up at once.

**Accepted file types**

* Images: **PNG, JPG/JPEG, GIF, WebP**
* Documents: **PDF**

Other types, SVG included, are refused.

**Size limit**

Each file can reach **5 MB**. The server applies that limit, so anything larger gets rejected on upload.

An uploaded file is stored securely and served over a fast content delivery network. Every file gets a permanent **URL** you can copy and reuse.

### Viewing and managing files

Inside a folder, switch between **grid** and **list** view. The platform remembers your preference. Images show a thumbnail and PDFs show a file icon. The search bar filters files by name.

Open the actions menu on any file to:

* **Preview**, opening the file in a new browser tab
* **Copy URL**, copying the file's CDN link to paste elsewhere
* **Rename**, giving the file a clearer name
* **Delete**, removing the file

**Bulk delete**

Select several files with the checkboxes, or use select-all, then choose **Delete selected** to remove them together.

### Using an asset in an email

The file library feeds the email editor directly. Compose an email template or an automation email, open the editor's **file picker**, browse your folders and insert an uploaded image. Flapjax adds it as an image served from its CDN URL.

See [Email Templates](/docs/settings/workspace/email-templates.md) for building and reusing email content.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Tip:** upload your logos and campaign images once, keep them in clearly named folders, and pull them into every email from the file picker. No asset needs re-uploading per message.
{% endhint %}
