# Keyboard Shortcuts

### Command Palette

The command palette is a searchable overlay. It takes you to any page and triggers actions instantly. Arrow keys work inside it: <kbd>↑</kbd> and <kbd>↓</kbd> move through results, <kbd>Enter</kbd> selects. The palette lists your individual stacks too.

| Shortcut                                  | Action                               |
| ----------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------ |
| <kbd>Ctrl</kbd>/<kbd>⌘</kbd>+<kbd>K</kbd> | Open the command palette             |
| <kbd>Esc</kbd> | Close the command palette, once open |

{% hint style="info" %}
**Note:** <kbd>Ctrl</kbd>/<kbd>⌘</kbd>+<kbd>K</kbd> works everywhere, including inside a text input. You can open the palette at any moment.
{% endhint %}

### Shortcuts Help

Need a quick refresher? Open the shortcuts help modal and see every shortcut without leaving the page.

| Shortcut       | Action                                 |
| -------------- | -------------------------------------- |
| <kbd>?</kbd> | Open the keyboard shortcuts help modal |
| <kbd>Esc</kbd> | Close the help modal, once open |

### Moving around

Two-key sequences jump you to any major section. Press <kbd>G</kbd> first, then the second key within 800 ms.

| Shortcut                     | Destination |
| ---------------------------- | ----------- |
| <kbd>G</kbd>then<kbd>R</kbd> | Reports     |
| <kbd>G</kbd>then<kbd>P</kbd> | People      |
| <kbd>G</kbd>then<kbd>L</kbd> | Labels      |
| <kbd>G</kbd>then<kbd>S</kbd> | Settings    |
| <kbd>G</kbd>then<kbd>Q</kbd> | Sequences   |
| <kbd>G</kbd>then<kbd>W</kbd> | Workflows   |
| <kbd>G</kbd>then<kbd>D</kbd> | Data Stacks |

### Behaviour Notes

Three points on how shortcuts sit alongside the rest of the platform.

* **Safe inside form fields.** Flapjax switches off the single-key shortcuts, meaning <kbd>?</kbd> and the <kbd>G</kbd> sequences, as soon as your cursor enters an input, a text area or a content-editable element. They never interfere with your typing.
* **Escape is context-aware.** Flapjax captures <kbd>Esc</kbd> only for the command palette and the shortcuts help modal. Otherwise it passes through to whatever else handles it, such as closing the automation builder panel.
* **Command palette navigation.** With the palette open, <kbd>↑</kbd> and <kbd>↓</kbd> move through results and <kbd>Enter</kbd> selects. The palette carries entries for individual stacks, so you can jump straight to one.

**Quick tip:** forgotten a shortcut? Press <kbd>?</kbd> from anywhere on the platform, outside a text field, for the full reference.
