# Signing In

This page covers how you get into Flapjax. Signing in, resetting a forgotten password, what an expired session looks like, and how single sign-on works.

### Signing In

Flapjax uses a hosted login screen from our identity provider, Auth0. Open the app without an active session and you land on that secure login page.

To sign in for the first time:

1. Enter the **email address** you were invited with, plus your **password**.
2. The provider confirms your details and returns you to Flapjax. You arrive on your default page, which is Reports for most permissions.

The return trip runs on its own. You see a brief loading screen as the app finishes signing you in.

### Resetting Your Password

Forgotten your password? Use the **Forgot password?** link on the hosted login screen. Enter your email and the identity provider sends you a reset link.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Note:** password reset happens entirely on the login provider's pages. Flapjax itself has no password-reset screen, so you always reset from the login screen.
{% endhint %}

### Session Expiry

Flapjax keeps your session alive in the background as you work. It re-checks about once a minute and refreshes on its own, so interruptions stay rare.

A session that does lapse, say after a long time away, puts a banner across the top of the screen. Click the **log in** link in that banner and pick up where you stopped.

### Single Sign-On (SSO)

Flapjax holds no SSO or login-connection settings. Your identity provider decides how your team signs in, with email and password or a corporate single sign-on connection, and that configuration lives at the tenant level outside the application.

Need an SSO connection added or changed? Arrange it with your Flapjax administrator rather than in these settings.
