# Managing Dashboards

### Browsing Dashboards

The Reports page holds all your dashboards. The view mode dropdown in the top-left toolbar switches between two layouts.

#### Card View

The default. Each dashboard is a card showing:

* **Name**, the dashboard title, with a star icon to favourite it
* **Description**, a short summary, or "No description"
* **Report tags**, up to three report names. A dashboard with more than three reports carries a **+N** badge, and clicking it reveals the rest.
* **Report count**, the total number of reports inside
* **Last updated**, a relative timestamp such as "2 hours ago". Hover for the full date and time.

Click any card to open the dashboard.

#### Table View

A compact table with sortable columns:

* **Name**, the dashboard name and description, plus a star to favourite it
* **Reports**, report names as tags, with the same overflow behaviour as card view
* **Updated By**, a relative date and the avatar of the team member who last updated it
* **Actions**, a three-dot menu offering Open, Edit and Delete

Click any row to open the dashboard.

### Searching

The **search bar** in the top toolbar finds dashboards by name or description. Results update as you type.

***

### Favourites

Click the star icon on any dashboard to favourite it. Favourites gather in a horizontally scrollable banner at the top of the page, which puts the ones you use most within a click.

***

### Creating a Dashboard

Click **New Dashboard** in the top-right corner. The form has two fields:

* **Name**, the display name. Required, up to 100 characters.
* **Description**, an optional summary of what the dashboard tracks, up to 500 characters.

Saving takes you to the new dashboard, ready for its first reports.

***

### Dashboard Detail Page

Click a dashboard to open it. The detail page shows every report inside and lets you arrange them.

#### Header

* **Back button** returns you to the dashboards list.
* **Dashboard name** renames inline on click. Your change saves as you click away.
* **Refresh reports** re-runs every report in the dashboard. The button then sits disabled for a 2-second cooldown, which stops repeated requests.
* **Add Report** opens the report builder for a new report on this dashboard.
* **Three-dot menu** offers Favourite, Edit and Delete.

#### Report Grid

Reports sit in a row-based grid, up to **3 reports** per row. They resize to fill the space: one report takes the full width, two split it in half, three share it equally.

**Rearranging reports.** Drag a report by its header bar and drop it in a new position. Move reports inside a row, between rows, or into the zone between rows to make a new row. A drop zone at the bottom of the page creates a new row when you drag a report there, and clicking it adds a new report.

Your layout saves on its own and returns on your next visit. Flapjax stores the arrangement in your browser, so it belongs to that browser and device. Another computer or browser starts fresh.

#### Auto-Execute

Opening a dashboard runs every report, so the data in front of you is current.

### Editing a Dashboard

Two routes edit a dashboard:

* **Inline**, by clicking the dashboard name on the detail page to rename it.
* **Form**, by clicking the three-dot menu and choosing **Edit** to update the name and description together.

***

### Deleting a Dashboard

Click the three-dot menu and choose **Delete**. A confirmation dialog warns you that deleting a dashboard deletes every report inside it. The action cannot be undone.

***

### Empty States

With no dashboards yet, the page prompts you to create your first. A dashboard with no reports prompts you to add one.
