# Production Environment

The **production environment** is the live, customer-facing deployment of the Flapjax platform. It is built for maximum reliability, security, and performance, and serves as the source of truth for all real user data and application operations.

***

### **Purpose of the Production Environment**

The production environment is designed to:

* Handle real user traffic at scale
* Deliver high-availability application services
* Ensure data durability and transactional integrity
* Maintain strict security boundaries
* Provide predictable performance and uptime

This is the environment that end users interact with directly.

***

### **Architecture**

The production environment uses the full set of infrastructure components outlined in your **Provisioned Infrastructure Components** document, including:

* Dedicated VPC
* EKS cluster with autoscaling node groups
* Aurora RDS (multi-AZ)
* Redis
* MongoDB (Atlas or PrivateLink)
* Load balancers & ingress
* Secrets Manager
* Monitoring & alerting

Production uses **production-grade sizing**, redundancy, and fault-tolerance.

***

### **Hosting Options**

The production environment can be deployed under either hosting model:

#### **Option A — Flapjax’s AWS Account**

Flapjax hosts and manages the production environment fully within our secured AWS infrastructure.

#### **Option B — Client’s AWS Account**

Production runs inside your AWS account with Flapjax managing the stack and operational lifecycle.

***

### **Summary**

The production environment is the primary, mission-critical deployment for live traffic. It is built with reliability, resilience, and performance as top priorities and can be hosted either by Flapjax or within your own AWS account.
