# Browsing Automations

## The Automations Table

Your automations fill a scrollable table that loads 50 more rows as you scroll. Each row shows:

* **Name**, the automation's display name and a truncated description
* **Category**, the assigned category tag with its emoji and colour
* **Status**, a coloured dot for the current state. See Statuses below.
* **Actions**, the total number of actions in the flow
* **Favourite**, a star icon you click to bookmark the automation
* **Actions menu**, a three-dot dropdown of further options

Click any row to open the automation in the [flow builder](/docs/automations/flow-builder.md).

### Statuses

Every automation carries one of these statuses:

* **Active**, running and processing. It shows as "Live" with an animated blue dot.
* **Scheduled**, set to activate at a future date and time, with a purple dot.
* **Fired**, already executed. This applies to one-time scheduled automations, with a grey dot.
* **Paused**, stopped by the system over an issue such as a missing segment or a deleted attribute, with an amber dot.
* **Inactive**, not running. It shows as "Draft" with a grey dot.
* **Deleted**, soft-deleted and hidden from the default view.

The View Settings dropdown chooses which statuses appear in the table. At least one must stay checked. Flapjax remembers your selections separately for Sequences and Workflows.

### Searching & Sorting

The search bar in the top-right corner finds automations by name, with results updating as you type.

Click **Sorted by** to change the table order. You can sort by:

* **Name**
* **Last Updated**, the default
* **Created Date**
* **Actions Count**

Each runs ascending or descending, and the dropdown highlights the active field and direction.

The **Created by** filter narrows the list to automations created or updated by one team member.

***

### Favourites

Click the star icon on any automation to favourite it. Favourites gather in a horizontally scrollable banner above the table, which puts the ones you use most within a click.

Each favourite card shows the automation name, its status badge, its action count and the time it last changed. Click a card to open it in the builder.

### Categories

The left sidebar groups your automations into categories. Categories collect related automations, say by team, purpose or campaign.

**Browsing by category.** Click any category to filter the table. A count badge shows how many automations it holds. **All** at the top clears the filter.

**Single and multi-select mode.** The mode button at the top of the sidebar switches between them. Single-select mode drops the previous category as you click a new one. Multi-select mode keeps several selected at once. Flapjax remembers your preference across sessions.

**Creating a category.** Click the **+** button at the top of the sidebar. Flapjax creates the category and opens a form for its name, emoji and colour.

**Updating or deleting a category.** Click the three-dot menu next to any category to **Update** its details or **Delete** it.

**Assigning a category.** From the automations table, open a row's three-dot menu and choose **Update category** to assign or change it. **Remove category** unassigns it.

***

### Row Actions

The three-dot menu on each row offers:

* **View builder**, opening the automation in the flow builder
* **View runs / View participants**, showing execution history. Workflows have runs, sequences have participants.
* **Clone**, duplicating the automation and opening the copy in the builder
* **Update**, editing the name and description
* **Update category**, assigning or changing the category
* **Remove category**, unassigning the current one
* **Delete**, soft-deleting the automation

***

### Building a New Automation

Click **Build Sequence** or **Build Workflow** in the top-right corner. Flapjax creates the automation and takes you into the [flow builder](/docs/automations/flow-builder.md) to design your logic. A category selected in the sidebar becomes the new automation's category.

### What Sequences and Workflows Share

Sequences and workflows share one list page, one flow builder, one action library and the same monitoring. The other automation guides cover them:

* [The Flow Builder](/docs/automations/flow-builder.md), covering the visual canvas, adding actions, configuring nodes and sticky notes
* [Action Reference](/docs/automations/actions.md), covering every action type and its configuration
* [Monitoring Runs & Participants](/docs/automations/monitoring-runs-and-participants.md), covering activity logs and execution tracking
